Barbara remembers drama class with Mr. Warren, choir with Mr. Pleasant, and AP English with Mr. Pelton. She remembers lunches under the giant oak along Homestead Road, or sitting on the floor in the front of the girl's gym when it was raining. She remembers ugly turquoise gym outfits, painting flats for drama class, riding buses to choir competitions, and trying to walk around on platform shoes. And she is very, very glad she is not in high school any more. She now manages a technical writing department at Synopsys, Inc., and in her free time performs in community theater, paints silk scarves, and does photography. She's about to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary to Andy, an engineer at Google, and has two daughters, Nadia, a professor at University of Pennsylvania, and Maddie, a student at UC Davis.
